Eastern Goldfields Education Support Centre (EGESC) provides specialised education for students with diverse abilities from Years 7 to 12. With a proud history in the Goldfields, our school continues a long-standing commitment to supporting young people with additional needs, originating from the Lorna Mitchell School, established in 1947.
At EGESC, we recognise that every student’s journey is unique. We take the time to understand each young person’s strengths, goals and support needs, creating personalised learning experiences that build confidence, independence and a strong sense of self.
Guided by our values of Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence, we foster a culture where students feel safe, supported and empowered. Through strong partnerships with families, agencies and the wider community, we create the right support around each student so they can build confidence, independence and meaningful lives beyond school.
Our Approach
Connected Learning, Personalised Support
Located across shared campuses with Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School and Eastern Goldfields College, EGESC offers students the opportunity to be part of a broader school community while receiving the specialised support they need. This unique setting allows students to engage with peers, access a wider range of learning experiences, and build confidence in different environments.
Our approach combines personalised learning with real-world experiences that support the development of practical life skills. We work closely with families and partners to help each student build independence, confidence and the skills they need to move forward.
